URBANDALE, IA – On April 23, 2025, the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce is hosting a special presentation on Situational Awareness and Public Safety for Women at Women Empowerment Breakfast, presented by Buttercream Cookie Dreams. This interactive session, led by Officer Meagan Cowden and Officer Kristin Coggeshall, will provide valuable insights and practical strategies to enhance personal safety in everyday situations.
Designed specifically for women, this session will cover key aspects of situational awareness, personal security, and proactive measures to stay safe in public spaces, at work, and at home. Officers from the Urbandale Police Department will share real-life scenarios, essential safety tips, and techniques to recognize and respond to potential threats effectively.
“This event is an opportunity for women in our community to gain confidence and learn proactive ways to protect themselves,” said Tiffany Menke, President of the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce. “We’re proud to partner with the Urbandale Police Department to provide this valuable training, equipping attendees with knowledge that can make a real difference in their safety.”
The Women Empowerment Breakfast will take place from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Urbandale Police Department. Tickets are available for $35, which includes light breakfast and networking opportunities before and in between speakers.
