June 19, 2025 — The Urbandale Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 Sample Urbandale Awards: Citizen of the Year, Young Professional of the Year, Business of the Year, Greg Thompson Small Business of the Year, and 2025 Best in Class, now featuring NEW awards!
The highly anticipated award recipients will be revealed at the Chamber’s annual event, Sample Urbandale: A Celebration of Business, on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Both individuals and businesses are encouraged to nominate deserving candidates, including themselves. A dedicated nomination committee will select the winners. Submit your nominations by completing an application today!
2025 Citizen of the Year
Each year, the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce honors a current or former Urbandale resident with the Citizen of the Year award. This prestigious accolade celebrates individuals who have significantly impacted the community.
Award Requirements:
The nominee must be or have been a resident of Urbandale.
Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. on August 1st.
2025 Young Professional of the Year, presented by AO Wealth Advisory
The Young Professional of the Year award recognizes an outstanding young professional who has made a notable positive impact on our community.
Award Requirements:
The nominee must be an active 2025 genYP member.
Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. on August 1st.
2025 Greg Thompson Small Business of the Year, presented by Clarity Business Coaching
The Small Business of the Year award honors a small business that has made a significant contribution to the community.
Award Requirements:
The nominee must have 1-10 employees.
The business must have a physical presence in Urbandale, IA, which could be a satellite office or division.
Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. on August 1st.
2025 Business of the Year
This highly coveted award is presented at the Sample Urbandale event. Nominate a business who strives to make a positive impact on the community. Businesses are welcome to nominate themselves for this recognition.
Award Requirements:
The nominee must have 11+ employees.
The business must have a physical presence in Urbandale, IA, which could be a satellite office or division.
Urbandale Chamber of Commerce membership is not required.
Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. on August 1st.
