2025 Central Iowa Business Conference Breakout Speaker Application
The Urbandale Chamber is gearing up for its 7th Annual Central Iowa Business Conference on May 22, 2025 at the Meadows Events Center, Altoona. As the premier event for CEOs, executive teams, business owners, investors, community leaders, and entrepreneurs, this conference offers a full day of inspiration and learning. Attendees will have ample opportunities to form strategic partnerships, build relationships, and expand their networks in a dynamic, target-rich environment. With the support of our partners, we expect to welcome over 500 participants for this impactful day!

“Lead. Shift. Transform. | Empowering Change For A Better Future” encapsulates a journey of proactive leadership, adaptive evolution, and purposeful transformation. In a world of constant flux, this theme calls for leaders to take decisive action, harnessing the power of change rather than reacting to it. By shifting perspectives, embracing new technologies, and addressing generational and economic shifts, we can redefine traditional pathways and inspire fresh approaches. Through transformation, businesses can create meaningful, sustainable progress that empowers both individuals and communities, paving the way for a better, more resilient future. This theme drives participants to not only anticipate change but to lead it, fostering a culture of empowerment that champions long-term, impactful success.

Along with inspiring keynote speakers, the Central Iowa Business Conference will feature engaging and educational breakout sessions on a variety of relevant topics that are impacting business owners, managers and influencers.
We are looking to add breakout sessions on the following topics areas. It is important that your breakout presentation will incorporate one or all of our conference themes: Lead. Shift. Transform.
- Human Resources
- Strategic Planning/Operations
- Sales
- Technology – Artificial Intelligence
- Customer Service
- Marketing
- Business Finances
The sessions will be 60 minutes long, including the intro and any Q&A. We request that your proposal address related topics within areas that are timely and pertinent to businesses. While we value you and your content, we ask that no selling be incorporated in your presentation from the podium. We encourage you to provide handouts and other informational pieces to our attendees so that they may contact you at a later date for further collaboration.
Please feel free to submit proposals for each topic for which you would like to be considered.
If Chosen to Present:
If you are chosen to present, you will be expected to:
- Present your topic at both the morning and afternoon breakout sessions.
- Work with CIBC Marketing Committee to provide a headshot photo and bio by January 15, 2025.
- Provide two, 250–500-word commentaries about your presentation that can be used as posts to promote your presentation.
- Provide an initial outline of your presentation to the CIBC Education Subcommittee by April 1, 2025.
- Participate in a 30-minute meeting (virtual or in-person) with a CIBC Speaker Subcommittee member(s) 30 days prior to the conference to review your presentation and finalize any presentation equipment needs.

Please submit your proposal via email by 5pm on December 20, 2024. Proposals will be reviewed by the Central Iowa Business Conference Speaker sub-committee. Selected speakers will receive notice by January 15, 2024.
