Leadership Urbandale begins in September and concludes with a graduation celebration in June.

Mission Statement

Leadership Urbandale will develop diverse individuals for leadership roles in the community.

Leadership Urbandale is a re-imagined program, to provide an immersive experience for aspiring local leaders. During the program year, the class of approximately 15-20 leaders convenes 1 day each month where participants experience a full day of policy briefings and onsite tours providing a comprehensive overview of the challenges and opportunities facing our community.

Class members who successfully graduate from the program will be welcomed into the elite ranks of Leadership Urbandale graduates.

The Leadership Urbandale classes are all-day, immersive experiences. Each class runs from approximately 8:00 a.m. – 5 p.m. We ask attendees to plan accordingly.

September 18, 2025 | Personal Assessment & Civics Day – Urbandale 

October 16, 2025 | Leadership & Excellence Day – Urbandale

November 20, 2025 | Economic Development Tour

January 15, 2026 | Civics Day – Regional & City

February 19, 2026 | Leadership & Skill Development Day

March 26, 2026 | Business Continuity & Environmental Stewardship Day

April 16, 2026 | Community & Non-Profit Day

May 21, 2026 | Central Iowa Business Conference

June 16, 2026 | Graduation Ceremony

Applications are accepted for consideration from May – June annually. Participants will be selected and notified in mid July.

Tuition is $1,800 for Urbandale Chamber of Commerce members and $2,200 for Non-Urbandale Chamber of Commerce members.

Applications must be received by June 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. The selection committee will review all applications and applicants will be notified of their status by July 17, 2026. **Applications will open on April 15 at 8:00**
